Short Biography

I am a research assistant at the Faculty of Management at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków. My academic adventure started in 2000 when I began my Master’s degree studies in Computer Science at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science, and Electronics. I knew it from the very beginning that Computer Science would be my field of work and that I would try to evolve in one of its many disciplines (options were diverse). During my studies, I also learnt English which is indispensable for advancing in Computer Science. After five years of studies, I graduated with the degree of Master of Science in Engineering with the specialisation of computer systems. I decided to apply my knowledge to a job in an IT company to test my skills as a developer. I believe that programming belongs to the most important skills of an IT Specialist – both a researcher and a practitioner. I have worked for Grupa Onet.pl S.A. and Skyscanner Ltd. (Edinburgh), which is currently one of the biggest flight search engines in Europe. These jobs provided me with experience and knowledge on how to work in a team and how to solve difficult optimisation problems, which I previously only encountered in books. Furthermore, I had an opportunity to perfect foreign languages in practice and to meet wonderful people from all over the world. After five years, I established my own small IT company and was offered a job as a research assistant at the Faculty of Management at my University. I took this challenge as I always wanted to publish my ideas associated with automatic text processing in scientific papers and to confront them with other scientists at international conferences. In 2013, I started my doctoral studies and undertook extensive research in this field.
